Kolton my Baby Brother

Kolton has arrived, a bit to soon for mom and dad's liking but he's now home and doing really well.  I'll tell you the whole story.

My mommy had a doctor appointment the week before Kolton was born and she told the doctor that she was having some pains when she would stand up and just throughout the day.  The doctor decided to check my mommy and determined she was dialated to a 2, she then told my mommy that she wasn't allowed to lift me, go for walks or do any house work.  She also had my mommy make another appointment for the following week.

The following week my mommy went to her appointment, my nana and I went along too, but we waited in the car.  All of a sudden my mommy called my nana and said she needed to take me home and that daddy was on his way to get her because they needed to get to the hospital (daddy was working so he came in his uniform and with his police truck) Mommy was dialated to a 4 and they needed to give her some shots to help develop Kolton's lungs faster.  I ended up having a 3 night sleepover at Nana and Papous while my mommy was in the hospital.

I would overhear her telling Nana, Papou and Daddy what was going on and apparently they were trying to stop mommy from having Kolton but nothing was working.  My mommy wasn't allowed to get up and walk around when she was in the hospital, so when I was able to visit we mostly stayed in the boring room.  I didn't like seeing my mommy hooked up to machines, I didn't understand what they were all for.

Daddy already for the OR and Kolton's arrival

So without further adu please let me introduce my little brother Kolton Wes Morzelewski, born May 24, 2012.  4lbs 4oz 15 1/2inches

Kolton had to stay at the hospital in the NICU for a month.  I wasn't allowed in there but I would patiently wait in the waiting room and eat my twizlers.

Kolton had to be on a ventilator for a little while

Then he was just on oxygen

This was Mommy's first time holding Kolton, 48 hours after having him
Daddy's first time holding Kolton

                                         Nana holding Kolton

Papou holding Kolton

I wasn't really sure why we had to keep going back to the hospital, but I was always really good.  Then one day I was finally able to see my little brother.

After that I couldn't wait to get Kolton home so I could really see him and maybe even hold him.
There were a few things that Kolton needed to do before he could come home, he needed to consistently gain weight, stay off of the oxygen and take all of his feedings through a bottle.

It took awhile but Kolton finally figured out how to eat with the bottle, he was finally able to come home on June 24, 2012 Mommy and Daddy were so excited.
Kolton's last bottle in the hospital

Kolton getting ready to come home

Saying goodbye to all the wonderful nurses

                                       Ready to go home

My mommy loves me and Kolton

I finally got to hold and really look at my brother
I Love my little brother Kolton!

Summer Time and my Big Girl Bed

I LOVE the water!!

I seriously could live outside or in the water if my mommy and daddy would let me.  Lately they have been filling up my pool and letting me run through the sprinklers, mostly because it's to hot to do anything else, but it doesn't matter to me I just love it!!

I know most of you know I am now a Big Sister, I tell you more about Kolton later.

Because I'm so big now I needed to learn how to sleep in a big kid bed.  First my mommy and daddy wanted to make sure I wouldn't fall out of bed, so they took the front of the crib off and my mommy put a pool noodle under my sheet to make a little bump to protect me from rolling off, I did fall out of bed once, but since then I've been great.

After mastering my sleeping in a bid kid bed it was time for the real deal.  My Nana and Papou bought me this Big Girl bed for me for my birthday!  I love it and I sleep so good in it. I truly am a big girl.

Thank you Nana and Papou for my big girl bed!!

Easter

Wow I am so behind on keeping everyone updated on my life, it's hard work being a big sister, so here is a catch up starting with Easter!

I had so much fun on Easter this year. I woke up to a wonderful surprise that the easter bunny left for me, my daddy had to work but he came home to see my easter basket too.  I got a new fairly barbie  lots of candy and I even got to eat a sucker before having my breakfast (it was so cool!)  My nana was in Colorado this year with my cousin Anthony so my mommy and I went to spend time with Papou.

We looked at the flowers and went for walks to see the ducks.

I just love my Papou!!
Later that evening my mom and I went to my Uncle Clark and Aunt Christine's house to have an easter egg hunt with my other cousins.

They're all so silly, but I love them!

My daddy helped me collect my eggs, it was a lot of fun.  I can't wait for next year.
